Happy Veterans Day from Ninnekah Owls

Veterans Day is always a special time at Ninnekah Schools. It is a time for us to say thank you to our service members and to reflect on their sacrifices. This year, Ninnekah students took on more responsibility for the annual Veterans Day Program, and some students even took part in the program itself.

Students from the High School and Middle School Student Councils gave introductions throughout the program. Ninnekah graduate Kasey Wilkerson sang the National Anthem to begin the program. A few Ninnekah fifth graders recited a poem, while NHS FFA members performed a flag ceremony. Guest speakers were Darrin Burgess, David Ray, Bill Graves, and Surana Prince. Sergeant Oliver from the Grady County National Guard, along with Ninnekah Senior Adin Blalock, demonstrated how to fold a flag.

Ninnekah Schools wants to thank everyone who participated in our Veterans Day Program, as well as everyone who came to join with us in recognizing our military men and women on this special day!

Thank you to Chris Dutton for the beautiful photo montage.
